Exploring Prix CaprillI: Alberta dressage
This past weekend, I attended the Prix Caprilli roving lecture hosted by the Edmonton Area Alberta Dressage Association (EAADA). Led by Ingrid Shultz at the gorgeous Meadowview Stables in Strathcona County, AB.
Prix Caprilli is a fun and accessible dressage test that weaves small jumps into a flatwork pattern, perfect for riders looking to build confidence, break up routine, or bridge the gap between dressage and jumping. It emphasizes rhythm, balance, and forward movement without the pressure of full-course jumping.
Ingrid’s instruction was clear, encouraging, and grounded in thoughtful progression. It was great to watch riders and horses work through something a little different and really enjoy it.
Have you ever tried Prix Caprilli—or would you? What would you want to know before giving it a go?
