Casual community.
do good work. take care. take turns.
what the heck is the porch?
-
An informal community space in which we observe or connect. Explore where you live. Come over, the porch light’s on.
How to Porch:
1. Decide to come
2. Come! -
Edmonton & Area
We roam quite a bit.
Parkland County is my home base. -
Real simple good things. A chance to try something new or connect with a human.
Contact me if you’d like to ‘host’ at The Porch. So many wonderful folks in various industries and professions that have such knowledge, skills, and products. I’m happy to act as a pick-up hub and community engagement facilitator for you. -
We will always make a call day-of, as well as confirm your RSVP. We all live in Alberta, we know what it’s like here.
-
RSVPing mostly just helps keep me organized. I’ll always confirm the day-of. If you need to come late or leave early, or cancel it’s allll good. Come hang when you have capacity, pass when you don’t!
Come when you’re sad. Come in pajamas. Come with a friend. Come dressed up. Come for 30 minutes. Come for 3 hours. Come share your wins with reckless abandon. Come with curiosity and respect for the humans around you. -
Nope! Come one come all. You’ll likely see some horsie themed gatherings but engage with what you like and pass on the rest! All skill levels welcome. Go at your own pace!
-
A 'porch pitch' is appreciated but not required. On occasion you’ll see products, services, or classes you can purchase alongside your Porch visit. These are always optional - the porch is for everyone!
One day I hope to see The Porch as a connection for, services, and resources to anyone who needs a quiet place to connect with nature, animals, and themselves.

My home base. Some might call it a bog-front property. We sit, we snack, we battle the Alberta weather and bugs. All welcome. Some Fridays, 5PM onwards.
-
A chance to ‘water ourselves’ with the things we often forget or neglect during busy seasons. Fruit, spring water, a chance to be still. Perhaps we work on deleting some photos in our phone or maybe throwing out some stuff.
-
Despite the name, this club is not to be slept on. NAP (Not A Photographer) Club is for any person who wants to pickup a camera more. We meet, we photograph stuff. That’s really it!
-
A series for moms in the Equestrian/Ag. world who are balancing babies, barns, and the back porch. Occasionally postpartum professionals drop in! With a focus on supporting Pre & Postpartum women, children/toddlers/babies are welcome.
-
Doodling, chats and community connection. No experience required. We draw and create with no real goal in mind. Bring your own supplies or just show up- there’s always a space for you!
-
Previously ‘Walk Wednesday’, an excuse to go out and move our bodies, maybe see the sun once and while. A roaming series.
-
A pilot series working on connecting large animal and mixed practice veterinarians in the greater YEG area. Practical support and casual drop-in sessions by professionals.
curiosity, transparency, and real-world understanding between communities that rarely interact anymore. You’re welcome here.

The Porch is still coming together,
like most of us.
Too tired for another group chat, don’t have capacity to commit to another ‘thing’, but still believe in human connection, on occasion? You’re probably in the right place. Small scale community gatherings to unwind, maybe try something new, and most importantly be outside close to nature! Yeehaw!
