The Pointe Agricultural Event Centre has been in the works for over a decade, first imagined in 2015 construction began in 2023 at Pointe aux Pins Acres beside Bremner House in Strathcona County. The facility covers close to 100,000 square feet with an arena, barn, and modern amenities for horse shows, clinics, and agricultural events. After years of planning, it officially opened its doors with a grand opening celebration on August 23, 2025. The Pointe gives community goers a chance to experience agriculture and horses up close. It’s a welcoming spot where people can connect, learn, and enjoy events they might not normally have access to. Congratulations Strathcona County!

footing & arena at a glance

The Pointe’s arena footing was built to last, with 2,762 metric tonnes of material delivered in 75 truck-and-quad-trailer loads. The finished depth is 14 inches, with the top six inches adjusted to suit each discipline.

Installation was done in precise layers: two 4-inch lifts, spread with laser-guided equipment and compacted with a vibratory roller/packer, plus a final 6 inches placed loosely and laser-graded within a ¼-inch.

The natural composition is mixed for versatility across agricultural events, while the sand is manufactured to reduce dust. Quality controls included no organics or contaminants, extra care to prevent contamination during delivery, and a requirement for semi-angular fractured particles that passed sieve analysis.

Specialized equipment: John Deere 5105M, Kiser 1010 Arena Drag, Secondary Arena Drag.
